Search by School Catchments

Residing within the catchment of a specific elementary or secondary school gives your child the right to attend the neighbourhood school. Therefore, when searching for a new home, the school catchment - a geographical boundary used to assign students to the neighbourhood school - in which a property falls under strongly influences a family’s purchase decision.
School boards believe in maintaining the relationship between residential location and school catchment areas, and therefore encourages parents to enroll their children in the local school by giving them first priority. However, students wishing to attend a school outside their catchment can do so upon acceptance of a cross-boundary application. This process however, can be time consuming and does not guarantee your child a spot at the sought-after school. To ensure your child is admitted to the school of your choice, it's best to purchase a home within the desired school catchment. Please note that catchment areas are subject to periodic review and changes by the school boards.
